In the ever-changing landscape of modern NCAA football, where the transfer portal, opt-outs, roster changes, and NIL bidding wars dominate the game, Virginia Tech redshirt junior linebacker stands out as a traditional player, almost an exception to the norm.
The former Tennessee High standout revealed on social media on December 19 that he would return for a fifth season with the Hokies in 2025, demonstrating a sense of loyalty that has become increasingly rare.
“I’ve always believed in finishing what you start, so I wasn’t really considering transferring,” Keller shared in a phone interview on December 21. “Tech has always supported me, so I had no intention of leaving.”
As a result, the reliable 6-foot-3, 235-pound linebacker will sport his familiar No. 24 jersey and continue delivering hits when Tech (6-6) faces Minnesota (7-5) in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
