Apparently, the 2023 ACC Rookie of the Year had such a positive experience in College Station that he decided to commit to the Aggies, skipping a visit to the Chapel Hill campus.
The top star concluded his highly sought-after recruitment by announcing his commitment to Texas A&M and first-year head coach Mike Elko.
Interestingly, Elko was the head coach at Duke when he was a freshman at NC State. In their 2023 matchup, his Blue Devils defeated the Wolfpack 24-3, though he still managed to rack up nearly 100 all-purpose yards in the losing effort.
As a sophomore this season, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound experienced a decline in his production, recording 53 receptions for 460 yards and six touchdowns. This was a drop from his impressive rookie campaign at NC State, where he posted 839 yards and 10 touchdowns on 71 catches.
Concepcion entered the transfer portal on December 9 and initially revealed a top six of Texas A&M, Alabama, Colorado, Florida State, Miami, and South Carolina.
A former three-star recruit from Chambers High School in Charlotte, N.C., Concepcion is now regarded as a four-star talent in the transfer portal, ranked No. 15 overall and No. 6 among wide receivers in the 247Sports Transfer Rankings. He will join Texas A&M with two years of eligibility remaining.
