Massive boost: Alex Cora and the Boston Red Sox sign another top-notch talented player to bolster depth

The Boston Red Sox announced on Saturday that they have signed right-handed pitcher  a two-time All-Star who was on the mound when the Los Angeles Dodgers secured the World Series title this fall, to a one-year contract.

The  30-year-old posted a 1-6 record with a 5.38 ERA during the 2024 regular season, following a year-long recovery from Tommy John surgery. However, he was more effective in the postseason, going 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA and earning one save. In Game 5 of the World Series against the New York Yankees, he pitched a perfect ninth inning, striking out the final two batters to secure a 7-6 victory.

Over his seven-year career, all spent with the Dodgers, Buehler has compiled a 47-22 record and a 3.27 ERA. He has finished in the top 10 of Cy Young Award voting twice.
