Western Illinois wide receiver has been in communication with West Virginia and is in the process of arranging an official visit to Morgantown.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 175 pounds, Henry had an impressive season with the Leathernecks, recording 64 receptions for 1,211 yards and 6 touchdowns. He has one year of eligibility left.
Before transferring to Western Illinois, Henry spent two years at Division II Livingston, where he totaled 66 catches for 840 yards over two seasons.
Henry has been in contact with West Virginia’s wide receivers coach, Ryan Garrett, who has expressed admiration for his skills. “It’s been great. They told me they love my film and would love to see me as part of WVU,” Henry said. Garrett has also mentioned that they appreciate his toughness on the field and are seeking an offense that emphasizes passing and getting the ball to playmakers.
Henry is planning to visit West Virginia on January 3, although the details are still being finalized. He hopes to experience a strong atmosphere from both the coaches and staff that will make him feel at home. “I’m hoping to see a great environment, from the coaches to the staff, that will make me feel at home,” he said.
In addition to West Virginia, Henry has also heard from Coastal Carolina, Kent State, Western Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, and Kennesaw State.
Ultimately, Henry wants to choose a school that will challenge him both on and off the field, while also supporting his academic goals. “I’m looking for a school that will push me and help me get my degree, and a place that makes me feel at home and keeps it real with me,” he added.
