Amid a challenging December for the Washington State Cougars, another key player for the 2024 season has revealed his new destination.
Redshirt sophomore linebacker took to Instagram on Thursday afternoon to announce his commitment to the University of Washington. His post included the caption: “They love you till they don’t. It ain’t about them tho.”
Al-Uqdah, who was named the Pac-12’s Top Defensive Performer for 2024 after WSU’s 8-4 regular season, had an impressive year. The Los Angeles native led the Cougars with 76 total tackles and was a key player in their efforts to force turnovers. He recorded three interceptions, four fumble recoveries, and three forced fumbles. Al-Uqdah will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
He is one of seven players from the 2024 WSU roster to announce a transfer for the 2025 season. Earlier this month, head coach Jake Dickert also departed WSU to become the head coach at Wake Forest.
Washington State will conclude their 2024 season on Friday, December 27, in the Holiday Bowl against Syracuse.
