The Baltimore Ravens have ruled out running backfor the remainder of year against the Houston Texans due to a hip injury, marking another setback for the rookie.
Ali, a fifth-round pick from Marshall in this year’s draft, has struggled with injuries throughout his rookie season, with Wednesday’s game being just his fifth active appearance. Prior to this game, he had carried the ball nine times for 35 yards and primarily contributed on special teams.
With Justice Hill unavailable for this game, the Ravens gave Ali an opportunity for more involvement, but he rushed just once for -3 yards before being sidelined.
As a result, Derrick Henry and Keaton Mitchell are now the only healthy running backs available for the remainder of the game. Mitchell, active for the first time in a month, provides the Ravens with some additional depth in the backfield.
Baltimore has been dominant throughout the game, leading 31-2 early in the fourth quarter as they aim for their third consecutive victory.
