MAJORE BLOW: Tennessee Football Defensive Lineman and edge rusher Enters Transfer Portal And Give reasons for Taking the Unfavorable Decision

Tennessee is set to lose another player to the transfer portal. On Monday, it was announced that defensive lineman and edge rusher would be entering his name into the portal.

Tennessee defensive lineman Jayson Jenkins (97) forces Mississippi State quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr. (0) try to fumble the ball during a college football game between Tennessee and Mississippi State at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn., on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024.

Jenkins contributed as a rotational player this season, making an impact with two sacks. He was expected to take on a larger role for the Vols next year, but that won’t happen now that he’s in the portal.

This marks the second player from Tennessee to enter the portal since their loss to Ohio State on Saturday. Christian Harrison made his announcement on Sunday, which has been the most notable so far. With Jenkins now officially in the portal, he likely ranks second in significance.

More players are anticipated to follow suit, so this likely won’t be the last portal announcement.
