The No. 6 seed Penn State Nittany Lions are preparing for their first-round College Football Playoff game against the No. 11 seed SMU Mustangs on Saturday afternoon.

Although head coach James Franklin and the team are focused on the upcoming challenge, Penn State received exciting news from the transfer portal less than a day before the game.

Former Texas A&M edge rusher Enai White committed to Penn State on Friday evening, as reported by On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett.

White, a Philadelphia native, was a Top-45 recruit in the 2022 class when he initially joined Texas A&M. Although Penn State was unable to land him as an in-state recruit at that time, he is now set to join the program with three years of eligibility remaining.

After a promising freshman season with the Aggies, White’s 2023 campaign was cut short due to a season-ending knee injury five games in. He played just one game in 2024, without recording any stats.

During his time at Texas A&M, White registered 11 tackles, three tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks across 13 games. He will now look to revive his college career at Penn State, a program known for producing top-tier defensive-line talent.

The Nittany Lions will face off against SMU at Beaver Stadium for their College Football Playoff matchup, with the game scheduled to kick off at noon EST on Saturday.
