The Oregon Ducks’ 2025 recruiting class has lost the commitment of five-star wide receive, who is reportedly set to switch to the Florida Gators. Wilson, ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in the country, had been committed to Oregon since January 2023 under coach Dan Lanning.
Wilson requested to be released from his financial affidavit with Oregon, which the Ducks have granted. Once released, he is expected to sign with Florida, according to Gators Online’s report.
The Athletic revealed that Wilson’s decision is influenced by a desire to be closer to a sick family member.
Wilson had previously shared his excitement about Oregon’s offer in an exclusive interview, explaining that he had always dreamed of committing to the Ducks. He expressed admiration for coach Lanning, calling him one of the best head coaches in the nation, and appreciated the personal connection Lanning made with him.
However, just two weeks later, Wilson is now choosing to flip his commitment to Florida, with both the Gators and Miami Hurricanes having pursued him as the recruitment cycle progressed.
A 6-3, 195-pound receiver from Tampa, Florida, Wilson’s decision to return to his home state played a role in his commitment change. A visit to Florida for their win over LSU likely strengthened their case.
With Wilson’s decommitment, Oregon’s 2025 class now includes three five-star recruits—wide receiver Dakorien Moore, cornerback Na’eem Offord, and safety Trey McNutt. Oregon’s class remains strong with 15 four-star recruits and two three-star recruits, totaling 21 players in the class.
