The No. 6 seed Penn State Nittany Lions are preparing for a first-round College Football Playoff matchup against the No. 11 seed SMU Mustangs on Saturday afternoon.
While coach James Franklin and the team are focused on their upcoming game, Penn State received some exciting transfer portal news less than a day before their postseason contest.
Former Texas A&M edge rusher Enai White committed to Penn State on Friday evening, according to On3 Sports insider Hayes Fawcett.
White, a native of Philadelphia, was a Top-45 recruit in the 2022 class when he joined Texas A&M. Although Penn State couldn’t land him as an in-state recruit at the time, he is now set to join the program with three seasons of eligibility remaining.
After a strong freshman year with the Aggies, White suffered a season-ending knee injury after just five games in the 2023 season. He played only one game in 2024, without recording any statistics.
White concluded his time at Texas A&M with 11 tackles, three tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks over 13 games. He will now aim to revive his college football career at Penn State, a program known for producing top-tier defensive line talent.
Penn State will host SMU for Saturday’s College Football Playoff matchup at Beaver Stadium, with the game scheduled to kick off at noon EST.
