MAJOR BREAKING: Alabama land blockbuster commitment for Miami Hurricanes most decorated WR

Alabama has secured a transfer commitment from former Miami wide receiver.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound receiver started six games for the Hurricanes over the past two seasons and will join Alabama with two years of eligibility remaining. With the Crimson Tide’s receiver depth taking a hit, Horton emerged as a key target for head coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff. He has the potential to contribute immediately and make an impact on Alabama’s offense.

Out of high school in the 2022 recruiting class, Horton was a 4-star prospect according to the industry-generated 247 Composite rankings. Although he had an offer from Alabama, he ultimately chose to sign with Miami.

He redshirted in 2022 and then started two games while appearing in 13 games in 2023, recording just 13 receptions for 168 yards and a touchdown. However, in the 2024 season, he was much more involved in the offense, playing in all 12 games and posting 56 receptions for 616 yards and 5 touchdowns. Only Xavier Restrepo had more catches for the Hurricanes this year.

While Horton wasn’t known for generating significant yards after the catch, averaging only 3.6 YAC per reception, he proved to be a reliable target for quarterback Cam Ward. Horton secured 7 contested catches on 12 contested targets, according to Pro Football Focus, which would have tied Ryan Williams for the most contested catches on the Alabama team this season.

A receiving corps featuring Horton, Williams, and Germie Bernard would make for a promising group next season. Horton now becomes the fourth known transfer commitment for Alabama.
