HUGE BOOST: Penn State Lands Talented superstar (QB) through Tranfer Portal as they are in need of QB2

A former redshirt junior quarterback for the USC Trojans, committed to Penn State on Monday following an official visit to Happy Valley over the weekend. the super youngstar has one season of eligibility left. His commitment coincided with Penn State quarterback Drew Allar’s announcement that he would return for his senior season in 2025.

Allar, who has started the past 26 games for the Nittany Lions, holds a 21-5 record. This season, he has passed for 2,894 yards and 21 touchdowns, completing 69.1% of his throws. He guided Penn State to the Big Ten Championship and a home game against SMU in the first round of the College Football Playoff.

 

 

Hudson is the first player to commit to Penn State since the transfer portal opened on December 9 and will become one of Allar’s key targets next season.

A former four-star recruit from Mater Dei High School in California, Hudson was ranked as the No. 22 receiver and No. 126 overall prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. After redshirting his first year, Hudson played in all 27 games over the next two seasons, starting three of them, and recorded 32 receptions for 341 yards and five touchdowns. This season, he had a breakout year, playing in all 12 games with nine starts, catching 38 passes for 462 yards and three touchdowns.

Hudson earned a reputation for making spectacular catches, including a one-handed grab against LSU in the season opener that resembled Odell Beckham Jr.’s famous catch. Later, he made another key reception in the fourth quarter against LSU, which led to a targeting penalty and set up a game-winning touchdown for USC in their 27-20 victory.

Hudson is one of two Trojans receivers in the transfer portal, with five-star recruit Duce Robinson also seeking a new school. Senior Kyle Ford will play his final collegiate game in the Las Vegas Bowl against Texas A&M. USC has signed three receivers for the 2025 recruiting cycle: four-stars Corey Simms, Tanook Hines, and Romero Ison.

USC is also targeting former Tulsa receiver Joseph Williams and former Purdue receiver Jaron Tibbs in the portal. Williams recently visited USC and was highly impressed, while Tibbs is set to visit this weekend.
