BREAKING: Montana Grizzlies land blockbuster commitment for highly regarded versatile player

A  senior from Red Lodge, revealed he would be joining the Grizzlies as a running back. In 2025, he earned Class B all-state honors while playing running back, linebacker, and return specialist. He also received offers from Montana Tech, Carroll College, Rocky Mountain College, and Minot State.

“I am blessed to announce my commitment to furthering my football and academic career at the University of Montana,” he wrote in a social media post on X. “Thank you to everyone for the support along the way.”

Earlier in the day,  another gifted player announced his commitment to the Grizzlies as a defensive back from Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas. Montana was one of his top four choices, alongside FBS schools North Texas and Louisiana Tech, as well as FCS team Stephen F. Austin.
He wrote on X: “Griz Nation, Lets Work, 1000% Committed.”

They 10th and 11th confirmed commits for the Class of 2025. Cook is the third in-state commit, joining athlete Merek Mihelish from Helena Capital and wide receiver Bridger Smith from Kalispell Glacier.

Gentry becomes the eighth out-of-state commit. He joins a group from Washington, including safeties Brady Beaner and Brock Beaner, linebacker Colton Lentz, and offensive linemen Quinlan Hyatt and Lincoln Hoefer; running back Julius Gillick from California; and defensive lineman Cooper Buffington from Iowa.
