Yousif told CBS News Detroit that his season ticket privileges have been revoked, and he has been banned from all NFL stadiums following a verbal altercation with LaFleur before the game on December 5, 2024. Yousif, who had been holding the American flag on the field before kickoff, engaged in trash-talking with the Packers, which escalated into a shouting match with LaFleur. The incident was eventually diffused by Packers staff and game officials, but LaFleur was left stunned by the altercation. “I’ve never been a part of something like that,” LaFleur said. “He was talking junk to our players — giving them the throat-slash sign, and you’re trying to de-escalate it, and then he gets in my face.”

Yousif admitted to CBS News that he had been trash-talking the opposing team but didn’t think the situation should have escalated so far. He was asked to leave the game at halftime and later learned that his season ticket holder status had been permanently revoked after three years of membership. “It was terrible, I didn’t think it was real at first. To completely revoke my tickets and never let me be a season ticket member again, it hurts. It hurts bad,” Yousif said.

In addition to losing his tickets, Yousif was informed that he has been banned from all NFL stadiums until he completes an online code-of-conduct course. While he acknowledged his mistake, Yousif feels the situation has been “blown out of proportion.”
