Major Update: Breaking, Nuggets Reportedly Secure Massive $146.4 Million Deal with Heat Superstar Jimmy Butler

It’s well-known that the Miami Heat are exploring trade options for Jimmy Butler, but where might he end up?

Among the most prominent teams interested in Butler are the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers, though the Denver Nuggets — the last Western Conference team to win a championship — shouldn’t be overlooked.

On Friday, Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey outlined a potential Butler trade for the Nuggets: Michael Porter Jr., Pelle Larsson, Dario Šarić, Zeke Nnaji, and three first-round pick swaps (2026, 2030, 2031).

Bailey noted, “Despite having Nikola Jokić, widely regarded as the best player in the world, the Denver Nuggets don’t appear to be strong title contenders at the moment.” He pointed out that Jamal Murray’s performance is likely a bigger factor than Michael Porter Jr.’s play, but Murray can’t be traded this season due to his max extension.

“If the Nuggets are serious about acquiring Butler, who could be the most prominent player available in trade talks before February, it will almost certainly require giving up MPJ. That would be a significant sacrifice.”

“At just 26 years old, Porter is nine years younger than Butler, and his three-point shooting is a crucial part of Denver’s offense. Porter leads the team in three-point attempts, hitting 38.8 percent of them, a contribution Butler wouldn’t match.”

“However, even with his age, Butler is the superior player. In fact, he could be the best teammate Nikola Jokić has ever had, aside from a postseason version of Murray.”

“Butler’s slashing, cutting, and playmaking skills would complement Jokić well, and his defensive abilities would improve the Nuggets’ overall potential.”

For the Heat, this deal might not be the most attractive one available, as much of Denver’s trade capital has already been spent. However, Butler’s age could limit his market value, and Miami may decide that three first-round pick swaps are more appealing than a single first-rounder from another team.

“This trade also helps the Heat avoid Butler’s looming contract negotiations while still maintaining a chance to make the playoffs.”

After such a deal, Miami could position Bam Adebayo as a greater playmaking hub and surround him with shooters like Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, and Michael Porter Jr.

Should the Heat seriously consider this trade offer from the Nuggets, or should they explore other potential suitors for Butler?
