BREAKING: Virginia Tech receive ground-breaking news as another gifted player declare his intention to enter the NFL Draft

Two years ago, Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry brought in three wide receivers from the transfer portal: Da’Quan Felton, Ali Jennings, and Jaylin Lane. Felton and Lane played significant roles in the Hokies’ offense over the past two seasons, while Jennings showed potential but struggled with several injuries.

Felton became a key target for quarterbacks Kyron Drones, Collin Schlee, and Pop Watson this season. The former Norfolk State transfer had two solid years in Blacksburg, and on Tuesday night, he announced his decision to turn pro.

Da’Quan Felton declares for NFL Draft

Last season, the Virginia Tech program had a quiet NFL Draft, but that will change this April, despite another disappointing 6-6 season for the Hokies. Felton will be one player hoping to make an impact at the next level, and on Tuesday night, he announced on his Instagram that he is declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft in April, which will be held in Green Bay.

Wide Receivers to Target Late This Offseason

As for Felton’s future regarding the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on January 3 against Minnesota, it is still uncertain. However, he has received an invitation to the Senior Bowl next month.

This season, Felton’s production dipped, recording 32 receptions for 360 yards and two touchdowns. In contrast, last season, he had 38 receptions for 667 yards and eight touchdowns in his first year at Tech. One of his standout moments came in the regular-season finale against Virginia, where he caught an 84-yard touchdown reception that helped Virginia Tech become bowl-eligible. In this season’s game against the Cavaliers, Felton had two catches for 50 yards, including a 42-yard reception from Watson. He also had a 55-yard touchdown catch on October 5 at Stanford, contributing to the Hokies’ 31-7 win in California.
