The college football transfer portal opened on Monday, and two Penn State players have already decided to leave. Players have until December 28 to enter the portal. Here’s a look at the players from Penn State who have entered the portal so far, based on multiple reports:
Tight End Jerry Cross
- Signed: 2022 (4-star)
- Status: In transfer portal
- Notes: Cross was the first Penn State player to enter the portal, which isn’t entirely surprising. The former four-star tight end struggled to get playing time in his first three seasons and, despite an injury to third-string tight end Andrew Rappleyea, still didn’t see the field. Instead, Penn State chose to burn true freshman Luke Reynolds’ redshirt. Cross finished his three years at Penn State without a single catch.
Defensive Tackle TA Cunningham
- Signed: 2024 (3-star)
- Status: In transfer portal
- Notes: Cunningham’s departure is a bit of a surprise, given that he redshirted this season. He was working on gaining weight and strength to prepare for a role at defensive tackle in the Big Ten but will now likely seek an opportunity elsewhere. Cunningham was listed as unavailable on the Penn State availability report throughout the season and never made his collegiate debut.
