The Syracuse Orange, like all college football teams, have officially entered transfer portal season today. The fall transfer portal window is open until December 28th, and the Orange are set to lose at least one starting defender. Cornerback a 4-star recruit who played five games and made 11 tackles, has announced he will be transferring (could the SEC be his destination?).
He quickly became a starter in his first season, and with the Orange expected to lose several players from the secondary, his departure is a significant setback for the projected 2025 lineup.
Additionally, two backup linebackers, Anwar Sparrow and Kadin Bailey, have officially announced their decisions to transfer. Sparrow appeared in 12 games, recording nine tackles, while Bailey contributed primarily on special teams during his time with Syracuse.
However, as we saw last year, players leaving can create opportunities for new arrivals. So, before jumping to conclusions, it’s important to exercise patience and restraint, as the next three weeks are likely to see a lot of movement.
