Oregon State Beavers quarterback declared on Saturday evening that he plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
The junior quarterback started nine games for the team in 2024 but was replaced by Ben Gulbranson toward the end of the season.
He shared his decision on social media, expressing gratitude to Beavers fans for their support.
He passed for 1,300 yards, recording three touchdowns and six interceptions throughout the season. Additionally, he set a career-high with 328 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.
McCoy spent the first three seasons of his collegiate career at Idaho, and will have one year of eligibility remaining.
The Beavers finished with a 5-7 record in their first season under head coach Trent Bray.
In 2025, Oregon State will compete with an independent schedule, which includes two games against Washington State, a fellow Pac-12 member. The restructured Pac-12 will resume conference play in 2026.
