BREAKING: Virginia Tech Hokies confirm more bad news as another gifted player declare his intension to enter the transfer portal

Redshirt freshman offensive lineman plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Monday, becoming the fourth scholarship player from Virginia Tech to announce his decision.

He appeared in one game over his two years with the Hokies, logging three snaps in a late appearance against Boston College this season. He has three years of eligibility left.

 

Lance Williams, Virginia Tech, Offensive Line

 

A three-star recruit from Alcoa, Tennessee, in the 2023 class, played on the interior line for the Hokies, mainly at left guard. With the departure of Kaden Moore at guard, Virginia Tech still has several returning players on the interior, including Bob Schick, who plans to return for another year, along with Brody Meadows, Layth Ghannam, Montavious Cunningham, Gunner Givens, and others, in addition to center Braelin Moore.

Williams joins defensive tackles Malachi Madison, Ishmael Findlayter, and Khurtiss Perry in announcing his decision to enter the transfer portal. Two walk-ons, receiver Jordan Tapscott and quarterback Jackson Sigler, are also transferring.
