‘This is so sad’ Bengals fans receive unexpected heart-breaking news ahead of fixture

The Cincinnati Bengals have confirmed that defensive tackle  will not play in Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to an undisclosed illness. This marks his second consecutive game missed. His absence is a setback for the Bengals’ defensive line, which has been causing significant problems for opposing quarterbacks in recent weeks.

Even after the bye week, Rankins remains unavailable. Additionally, the Bengals continue to deal with injuries, with wide receiver Charlie Jones expected to miss the game due to a groin issue. Jones has been the team’s primary return specialist and a potential slot option throughout the season.

Meanwhile, inside linebacker Logan Wilson was sidelined for practice all week due to a knee issue. If Wilson is unable to play, Akeem Davis-Gaither will step in as the starter. Davis-Gaither already contributes in certain sub-packages, but losing Wilson would be a significant setback for the Bengals.

Finally, offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. is still recovering from a troublesome fibula injury and is listed as questionable. He was limited in practice throughout the week, but there is cautious optimism that Brown could make his return this week.
