MASSIVE: Phillies are set to land two blockbuster deals that will have the entire MLB teams shaking

The Philadelphia Phillies were eliminated early in the 2024 postseason, falling to the New York Mets in the National League Division Series. Although many teams would be content with winning their division and reaching the NLDS, the Phillies had their sights set on a World Series title after narrowly missing out in 2022 and 2023.

The early exit in 2024 may have triggered the organization to be aggressive this offseason as they reportedly are showing interest in two big free agents.

“They’re  highly interested in pursuing Willy Adames or Alex Bregman,” insider Jon Morosi said, via MLB Network.

Additionally, Morosi suggests that the Phillies’ interest in both Adames and Bregman indicates that third baseman Alec Bohm may be on the trading block.

Adames has publicly expressed his willingness to switch positions from shortstop if offered the right contract, while Bregman, who played third base for the Houston Astros, is a well-established option at the position.

Both players had strong performances in 2024. Adames appeared in 161 games for the Milwaukee Brewers, hitting .251 with 32 home runs, 112 RBIs, and a .794 OPS. Bregman played 145 games for the Astros, posting a .260 average, 26 home runs, 75 RBIs, and a .768 OPS.

Despite Bohm earning an All-Star nod in 2024, his struggles toward the end of the season seem to have the Phillies considering trading him before 2025.

Looking ahead, the Phillies are expected to be among the top contenders for the 2025 World Series as they aim to bounce back from their near-miss last season.
