BREAKING: Indiana Hoosiers land commitment for another highly rated super talent

Four-star safety originally committed to the Indiana Hoosiers in April but decommitted in early October. Now, just ahead of early National Signing Day next month, he has re-committed to the Hoosiers, as reported by Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 180 pounds, he is the highest-ranked recruit in IU’s 2025 class. The Maryland native is also ranked No. 188 overall and No. 17 among safeties in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

He had an impressive junior season at St. Frances, recording 89 tackles, 4 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles, according to 247Sports.

In his senior season, he has accumulated 79 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 3 pass breakups. Additionally, Baldwin competes in track and field, focusing on the triple jump, where he set a personal best of 40 feet last year. He credits this experience for enhancing his running and jumping skills on the football field.

Indiana has been there for me from the start,” Byron Baldwin told On3 after announcing his decision to rejoin the Hoosiers.

“Coach Cignetti runs a tight ship, and I’m all in for it,”Byron Baldwin said, emphasizing how the discipline aligns with his goals.“I’m heading to a program that means business, and I’m ready to bring my A-game.”

“What makes Coach Cignetti special is his system,” Baldwin explained. “If you look at Coach Cignetti’s resume, he’s had success everywhere he’s been. He started as a wide receivers coach for Nick Saban at Alabama, which is where he laid the groundwork for his career. Then, he turned around Elon and most recently, he was at James Madison, where the team has been winning consistently in recent years. That success is a result of his formula.”

Baldwin plans to sign with Indiana in December and enroll in January.
