Texas Rangers Reportedly Confirm the Release of Struggling Second Baseman

On Tuesday night, the Texas Rangers will open up a new series with the Pittsburgh Pirates (at home).

They are coming off a 5-2 loss to the Mariners (in Seattle).

Prior to Tuesday’s game, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reported that the Texas Rangers had released Veteran outfielder, according to MLB Trade Rumors.

Wade never appeared in a game for Texas.

The 31-year-old is coming off a season with the San Diego Padres in which he hit .206, recording nine RBIs, 13 runs scored, and one stolen base across 59 games.

Jeff Wilson of DLLS Sports also noted that the Rangers granted Wade his release from his Triple-A contract.

Wade’s MLB Career

Wade was picked in the fourth round of the 2013 MLB Draft.

He spent the first five years of his career playing for the New York Yankees.

Following New York, Wade went on to have stints with the Los Angeles Angels, Athletics (and Padres).

Over 506 games, Wade is batting .216 with seven home runs, 60 RBI’s, 152 runs and 51 stolen bases.

With his experience, it will be interesting to see if another team adds him to their organization before the end of the 2026 season.

Rangers And Yankees Right Now

Right now, the Rangers are the second-place team in the American League West with an 11-11 record in 22 games.

They are 3-3 in the six games they have played at home.

In 2023, they won the World Series Championship.

Meanwhile, the Yankees are at the top of the American League East with 13-9 record in 22 games.
