Blockbuster Trade Proposal Sends Two Superstars To Boston Red Sox

The Chicago White Sox are anticipated to entertain trade offers for their top two players, Luis Robert Jr. and Garrett Crochet, this offseason. Both of these players would attract significant trade value. But what if the White Sox packaged them together in one deal? Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller recently suggested such a scenario, proposing a hypothetical trade that would send Robert and Crochet to the Boston Red Sox in return for several highly-rated prospects.

Here’s the deal that Miller proposed:

  • Red Sox receive: OF Luis Robert Jr., LHP Garrett Crochet

White Sox receive: OF Roman Anthony, SS Franklin Arias. RHP David Sandlin

Anthony, ranked as Boston’s top prospect by MLB Pipeline, posted a .291/.396/.498 slash line across two levels in the minor leagues. He is the centerpiece of the trade, with expectations that he will develop into a future superstar at the major league level.

Arias, 18, is Boston’s sixth-ranked prospect and one of the standout international talents from the 2023 class. A defensively strong shortstop, he performed well at the plate during his first season in professional baseball. Sandlin, 23, brings a well-rounded skill set with solid pitching offerings, though he is slightly older than the type of prospects the White Sox typically target.

While trading for both Luis Robert and Garrett Crochet would be a significant investment for Boston, it would immediately strengthen their roster and put them in serious contention for the AL East title. Additionally, the Red Sox could still use free agency to bolster their bullpen and add another starting pitcher.
