Following Alabama’s 42-16 win over South Florida last Saturday, Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer discussed his team’s performance during Monday’s press conference, including updates on three injured players.
Wide receiver and punt returner Cole Adams, who caught a crucial pass on third down in the red zone at the start of the fourth quarter, seemed to injure his right arm or wrist when he fell after gaining enough yardage to set up Alabama at first-and-goal on the 5-yard line.
DeBoer initially thought it might be a lower leg injury but later confirmed it was an arm issue. “He’s frustrated,” DeBoer noted, adding that the extent of the injury would become clearer over the week. On Monday, he updated that Adams’ recovery will be monitored throughout the week, and while Adams might not be completely ruled out, his participation will likely be limited early on.

Right tackle Elijah Pritchett, who didn’t play until the Tide’s strong fourth quarter, was described by DeBoer as having been slightly banged up before the game. On Monday, DeBoer elaborated, saying Pritchett was somewhat limited during practice but performed well when he played, emphasizing that his health after the game was a positive outcome.
Left tackle Kadyn Proctor, who had left the field in pregame warmups of the season opener against Western Kentucky with his left arm/shoulder in a sling, did not participate in first-team reps before Saturday’s game. Proctor was seen in street clothes during team runouts. DeBoer said Proctor would continue working on his functional movement early in the week and was progressing well, with hopes of being close to full participation by the weekend.
It remains unclear whether Adams, Pritchett, or Proctor will be ready for the upcoming away game against Wisconsin. Saturday’s game at Camp Randall Stadium will mark DeBoer’s first road test with the Crimson Tide.
