‘Good News’ Mind-blowing news emerge for Texas Rangers Fans

The Texas Rangers announced that their No. 2 prospect, infielder  will be promoted to Double-A Frisco for the remainder of the season.

He is expected to be available for Frisco’s opener in Amarillo on Tuesday, marking the start of the final week of the regular season, which Frisco will spend entirely in Amarillo.

Following the regular season, Frisco will compete against Midland in a best-of-three Texas League division series starting on September 17 in Midland. Game 2 and, if necessary, Game 3 will be held in Frisco on September 19-20.

At just 18 years old, Walcott is ranked as the Rangers’ No. 2 overall prospect, behind pitcher Kumar Rocker, who is currently with Triple-A Round Rock. There is still a possibility that Rocker could be promoted to the Majors before the season ends.

Walcott has spent the entire season at High-A Hickory, where he posted a .261/.342/.443/.785 line with 10 home runs and 49 RBI in 116 games. He became one of only three minor leaguers to achieve at least 10 home runs, 21 doubles, and 15 stolen bases in a single season at age 18, joining San Diego’s Fernando Tatis Jr. and Milwaukee’s Jackson Chourio.

As the Rangers’ top signing from the 2023 international draft class, Walcott, from the Bahamas, has quickly become a standout in the team’s player development program. He participated in the MLB Futures Game during All-Star Weekend as the starting shortstop for the AL team and was also a contender in the inaugural MLB Futures Skills Competition.

After signing last January, Walcott began the season in the Dominican Summer League, then moved to the Arizona Complex League Rangers, and eventually saw some action with Hickory. Overall, he recorded a combined .246/.335/.471/.806 line with seven home runs and 24 RBI.
