BREAKING: ‘This is sad’ Boston Red Sox let go of another dynamic super talent

Boston announced it had designated another super talent  for assignment just a few hours before their series finale against the Chicago White Sox at Fenway Park. At that point, he was batting .255 with 19 home runs and 64 RBIs through 85 games with Triple-A Worcester.

Dalbec, a fourth-round draft pick by the Red Sox in 2016, made his major league debut with Boston in 2020 and made an impact right away, hitting eight home runs in his first 23 games. However, his performance declined sharply over the next few seasons. He hit .240 and .215 in his first two full seasons with the Red Sox and struggled even more in 2024, posting a .133 average in 37 games.

In addition to parting ways with Dalbec, the Red Sox also made another roster move on Sunday, activating Richard Fitts, who came over in the Alex Verdugo trade with the New York Yankees. Fitts is set to make his major league debut as Boston’s starting pitcher for their series finale against the White Sox.
