Ole Miss Rebels tight end, who announced his decision to enter the transfer portal in November, has now revealed his new destination. Conner will be transferring to East Carolina, returning to his home state of North Carolina.
Although his freshman season at Ole Miss was relatively modest, with just one reception for seven yards, he retains four years of collegiate eligibility after redshirting last year. His move to East Carolina allows him to continue his college career closer to home, where he played high school football at East Forsythe in Kernersville, N.C.
The tight end will also be reuniting with a former coach at East Carolina. John David Baker, who was the co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach at Ole Miss, took on the offensive coordinator role at East Carolina this offseason. This connection could have influenced Conner’s decision to transfer.
Rated as a Five-star recruit coming out of high school, Conner initially chose Ole Miss over offers from South Carolina, Duke, NC State, and other programs as part of the 2023 class. His move to East Carolina brings him back to his home state and allows him to continue his career under a familiar coach.
