The Boston Red Sox are battling to secure an American League wild card spot. Currently, they are 3.5 games behind the Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins, both of whom have records of 71-56 as of Thursday. Despite this, the Red Sox still have a chance to make a postseason push in the final month of the season. Additionally, recent injury updates on Trevor Story suggest that the Sox might soon receive a significant boost to their lineup.
Trevor Story suffered a fractured glenoid in his shoulder back in April, an injury that was anticipated to end his season after only eight games. However, Story’s rehab progress is ahead of schedule, and according to President of Baseball Operations Craig Breslow, there is a genuine possibility that he could return to the Boston lineup before the end of the season.
