New Myers Park 4-star DB Camdin Portis has received 27 offers this offseason

Camdin Portis, son of former Hurricanes running back Clinton Portis, announced on Sunday evening that he has committed to Miami for the 2026 recruiting class.

The younger Portis is a 6-foot, 165-pound junior defensive back at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C. He received offers from several top programs, including Florida, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee. Additionally, the three-star prospect has some experience as a wide receiver.

Portis has significant expectations to meet at Miami. His father, Clinton Portis, played for the Hurricanes from 1999 to 2001, amassing 2,523 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns over three seasons. Clinton was the starting running back for Miami’s BCS national championship team in 2001 and went on to have a successful NFL career, earning an All-Pro selection, two Pro Bowl appearances, and six seasons with at least 1,250 rushing yards.

In recent years, little has been reported about the older Portis aside from some legal issues he faced. Now, his son will aim to uphold the family legacy in Coral Gables.
