BREAKING: Pittsburgh Steelers encounter another great problems that will greatly affect their next fixtures

The Pittsburgh Steelers, already struggling with their wide receiver depth, will take on the New York Giants in Week 8 without rookie Roman Wilson.

Wilson, a third-round draft pick from Michigan, has been officially ruled out due to a hamstring injury, as noted in the Steelers’ final report following Saturday’s practice. He made his NFL debut in Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders, where he played five snaps but did not record any receptions. Just days before the Steelers faced the New York Jets in Week 7, he appeared on the injury report with the same issue.

Although Wilson practiced limitedly and was listed as questionable, he ultimately did not play. This week, he will face similar challenges, as he has struggled to integrate into the Steelers’ offense this season.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Roman Wilson (10) walks down the tunnel before a preseason game against Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

He was anticipated to play a significant role with numerous targets available, both in the slot and alongside George Pickens. However, a sprained ankle sustained early in training camp sidelined him for the entire preseason and limited his chances at the start of the regular season.

Though Wilson began practicing fully leading into Week 3, it wasn’t enough to sway head coach Mike Tomlin, who kept him inactive until his debut in Las Vegas. The long-term outlook for Wilson’s current injury remains uncertain, and his rookie season has not gone as hoped. The Steelers are optimistic that he can recover and contribute later this year, but the situation remains uncertain for now.
