The Detroit Lions are enjoying a successful run, largely thanks to their explosive offense. However, they will be missing one of their key wide receivers for the next two games.
Wide receiver Jameson Williams has received a two-game suspension from the league for breaching the Performance Enhancing Substance (PES) policy, with ESPN’s Eric Woodyard being the first to break the news.
In a statement to Woodyard on Monday night, Williams expressed his disappointment but said he has “no choice but to take it on the chin.”
“I’m in good spirits and just ready to get back with my teammates as soon as possible,” Williams stated.
This marks Williams’ second suspension in three seasons. He was initially suspended for six games in 2023, which was later reduced to four, for violating the league’s gambling policy—something he admitted he “wasn’t aware” of.
The third-year player from Alabama is Detroit’s second-leading receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown, recording a career-high 361 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Drafted 12th overall in 2022, Williams has played a key role in Detroit’s offense, contributing to 22.4 percent of quarterback Jared Goff’s total passing yardage (1,610 yards).
He will be eligible to return to the lineup on November 10 when the team faces the Houston Texans.
