BREAKING: ‘This is sad’ Steelers fans receive unexpected heart-breaking news

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin spoke to the media on Tuesday, September 24, as is his routine. This week, however, he had a lengthy list of injury updates ahead of Week 4.

“From a health standpoint, I’ll touch on a few things,” Tomlin said, indicating that tight end, cornerback and outside linebacker are all expected to be unavailable for the upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Additionally, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported that the Steelers are preparing for Highsmith to miss several weeks due to his groin injury, though it’s not deemed serious and he will not need surgery.

Second-year edge rusher Nick Herbig is expected to fill in for Highsmith, but the team’s depth behind T.J. Watt and his young backup is now limited.

Tomlin also mentioned that running back Jaylen Warren’s participation for Week 4 is uncertain as he deals with a knee injury.

On a brighter note, running back Najee Harris “won’t have any limitations” after he was seen walking around team facilities with his arm in a sling on September 23, according to Tomlin and ESPN beat reporter Brooke Pryor.

It sounds like there’s some optimism regarding Isaac Seumalo’s recovery! Coach Tomlin’s comments suggest they’re being cautious, but it’s encouraging that he hasn’t ruled him out for Week 4. The fact that backup linemen Spencer Anderson and Mason McCormick are getting reps indicates they’re preparing for any scenario. If Seumalo can get enough practice time in, he might just be ready to return against the Colts. It’ll be interesting to see how the week unfolds!
