Ground-Breaking: Packers QB Malik Willis had disgusting reason for not passing vs. Colts

Packers QB had disgusting reason for not passing vs. Colts

In the Green Bay Packers’ 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2, quarterback Malik Willis had a modest performance with just 12 completions for 122 yards and a touchdown. Despite the limited stats, Willis was highly effective, needing only 14 pass attempts.

Post-game, Willis and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur clarified why he didn’t pass during a clear third-and-10 opportunity late in the second quarter. It turned out that center Josh Myers had vomited on the football, explaining the unusual play decision.

ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reported that Josh Myers admitted to having vomited during games before, including in Green Bay’s Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil. However, Myers noted that Sunday was the first time he had ever vomited on the football just before a snap.

“I tried to lean over,” Myers said, per Demovsky. “Dang, I’m going to have to apologize for that one. That was probably pretty gross.”

According to the insider, the Week 2 game at Lambeau Field took place in 85-degree heat, marking the second hottest game-time temperature ever recorded at the venue, which is famously known as the “Frozen Tundra.”

Athletes sometimes lose their lunch during games due to factors like hot weather or nerves. For instance, Cincinnati Reds All-Star pitcher Hunter Greene has experienced this multiple times on the mound this season.

In an ironic twist, just a month ago, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur gave a memorable response to reporters about who the team’s top wide receiver was, which quickly went viral.

“I want to vomit every time I hear No. 1 receiver. It drives me crazy,” LaFleur told reporters. “That’s something you guys talk about. I think we’ve got a bunch of them.”
