Arizona’s 2025 recruiting class has gained a significant boost as Chandler defensive back as flipped his commitment from rival Arizona State to the Wildcats.
A 5-10, 175-pound cornerback who recently transferred from Scottsdale Saguaro High School to Chandler Hamilton, announced his decision. He is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com and is ranked as the sixth-best overall prospect in Arizona for the 2025 cycle. In addition to Arizona, he holds offers from Kansas, Oregon, Washington, Tennessee, Iowa State, and TCU, among others.
Hinton’s connection to Arizona runs deep—his father, David Hinton, played defensive back for the Wildcats from 2000-02 when current UA head coach Brent Brennan was a graduate assistant coach. His older brother, D.J. Hinton, also has ties to the program, having been a walk-on wide receiver at Arizona after graduating from Tucson High.
In his two seasons at Scottsdale Saguaro, Dajon Hinton appeared in 18 games, recording 25 tackles, three pass breakups, and an interception. Additionally, as a kick returner and wide receiver, he scored five touchdowns.
The Wildcats now have nine total commits for their 2025 recruiting class. Dajon Hinton joins Gilbert Higley quarterback Luke Haugo as the other in-state commitment for Arizona’s 2025 class.
