On Monday, Georgia Tech secured a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Josh Petty, surpassing Ohio State in the recruitment process. By Wednesday, details emerged about Petty’s earnings with the Yellow Jackets.
According to On3, Georgia Tech and Petty have agreed to a three-year “Roster Value” deal, which guarantees him at least $800,000 annually. A source from Florida State, which also pursued Petty, mentioned that his recruitment did not turn into a competitive bidding situation.
Petty’s father, James Petty, shared with On3 that the combination of educational opportunities and NIL potential was a significant factor in his son’s decision.
“My son and other athletes now have the chance to build a financial foundation that will help them transition in life and address affordability issues,” James Petty stated.
