Game Changing News: Kentucky Wildcats Receive Big News Regarding Super Talented Forward

The Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team has seen more than half of its roster depart due to expired eligibility, entries into the NBA draft, or moves through the transfer portal. Still, they’ve retained a few important players, including Kam Williams and Malachi Moreno—provided Moreno doesn’t opt for the draft. On Wednesday, it was also confirmed that 21-year-old forward will be returning.

Potter, a 7-foot-1, 230-pound center, joined Kentucky last offseason from Miami (Ohio) through the transfer portal. During his two seasons there, he averaged 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in about 15 minutes per game. He also demonstrated some playmaking ability and showed promise on defense, averaging nearly one block per game.

An area where Potter excelled, and something Pope is sure to love, is with his ability to shoot the ball. He knocked down nearly 40% of his three-point attempts over two seasons.

Last year, with the Wildcats, Potter redshirted, leaving him two years of eligibility. His size and skillset should earn him playing time next season, and he could be a valuable part of the rotation. His ability to stretch the floor adds another dimension to the offense. It’s good news for a team that needs as much of it as possible.
