Game Changing News: Duke Blue Devils Receive Big News Regarding Super Talented Guard

Still stinging from their Final Four defeat to UConn, the Duke Blue Devils don’t have the luxury of dwelling on the loss. Their focus now shifts quickly to the 2026–27 college basketball season, starting with locking in the roster ahead of summer.

A major factor in Duke’s impressive 35–3 campaign last season was freshman guard Cayden Boozer, younger brother of projected NBA lottery pick Cameron Boozer. While Cameron is expected to make the jump to the NBA, Cayden faced a decision about his own future.

According to CBS Sports reporter Jon Rothstein, Cayden Boozer has chosen to return to Duke for the 2026–27 season. His decision comes despite a tough finish to last year, highlighted by a costly turnover against UConn that led to Braylon Mullins knocking down a three-pointer, ultimately ending Duke’s run in the NCAA Tournament.

The freshman guard appeared in all 38 of Duke’s games last year, while earning 11 starts. He averaged 7.7 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.3 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game. Cayden Boozer shot 50% from the field overall and 30.3% from the three-point line.
