They chose to waive guard Blake Hinson, which disappointed many fans. Hinson had a strong performance during the Summer League, and some believed he could be a valuable addition throughout the season.

To add to the situation, Hinson has signed an Exhibit 10 training camp deal with the rival Golden State Warriors. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that Hinson opted for the Warriors despite interest from several other teams.

During the Summer League with the Los Angeles Lakers, Blake Hinson made a notable impact. In the final game, he scored 25 points, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out two assists, helping the Lakers defeat the Chicago Bulls. He also showcased his shooting ability, hitting 5-of-14 from beyond the arc.

Many Lakers fans were disappointed to see him waived, especially since his signing with the Golden State Warriors could be a setback for Los Angeles. Joining the Warriors could be an excellent opportunity for Hinson, as their system heavily relies on 3-point shooting, a strength of his during his college career.

Last season at the University of Pittsburgh, Hinson averaged 18.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game, with an impressive 42.1 percent shooting from deep. Prior to Pittsburgh, he played at Ole Miss in 2018 and then transferred to Iowa State, though he never played there before ultimately moving to Pittsburgh for his final two college seasons.

Now on an Exhibit 10 deal, Hinson is eligible to be converted to a two-way contract before the regular season begins. However, Golden State already has all three of their two-way slots filled, so it will be interesting to see how they handle his situation before the season starts.

Regardless, it looks like Hinson could make an impact with the Warriors this season as he aims to secure a spot on the roster during training camp.
