Breaking: Dallas Cowboys Make Big Move, Adds Another Top-Tier Talent to Roster

Super talent and the Dallas Cowboys reached an agreement on a deal on Wednesday, as confirmed by the running back’s agent.

Dalvin Cook’s season with the New York Jets last year was underwhelming, as he managed only 214 yards and failed to score any touchdowns on 67 carries. Just before the playoffs, he and the Jets mutually decided to part ways, leading him to sign with the Baltimore Ravens. In Baltimore’s AFC Divisional playoff win over the Houston Texans, Cook had eight carries for 23 yards but did not see any further action.

Before his time with the Jets, Cook enjoyed four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Although he is not as explosive as in his earlier years, his lackluster performance in New York might have been partly due to Aaron Rodgers’ injury in Week 1.

The Cowboys are currently lacking the depth at running back that they have had in previous seasons, particularly after Tony Pollard left for the Tennessee Titans in free agency. Dallas has re-signed Ezekiel Elliott, who is now listed as the starter, and also features fifth-year back Rico Dowdle and second-year back Deuce Vaughn.

If Cook can return to full health, the four-time Pro Bowl running back might find a significant role with the Cowboys. However, the length of time he spent unsigned may reflect how teams currently perceive his value.
