3 Titans who need to take advantage of joint practices with Seahawks

The Tennessee Titans are holding joint practices with the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday and Thursday. These sessions will precede their Week 2 preseason game on Saturday. Both coaching staffs have announced that several starters will sit out this weekend’s exhibition.

This opens up opportunities for numerous players to prove themselves during the joint practices. The Titans have several rising talents competing for starting positions and rotational roles. Here, we highlight three Titans who need to make an impact against Seattle.

Treylon Burks, WR

Tennessee Titans: Treylon Burks' rookie stats compared to AJ Brown

Treylon Burks saw limited action in Saturday’s preseason win against the San Francisco 49ers, participating in only 15 snaps, slightly more than starters Calvin Ridley (9) and Tyler Boyd (11). Burks made one catch for 12 yards. With DeAndre Hopkins sidelined due to a knee injury, Burks faces a challenging test against the Seahawks’ strong cornerbacks. As a former first-round pick, he needs to keep demonstrating his reliability as a passing game option.

Dillon Radunz, RG

Dillon Radunz is the leading candidate to secure the starting right guard position after Saahdiq Charles’ unexpected retirement. Radunz took all the first-team reps in Saturday’s preseason game, although the Titans have mentioned that second-string guard Andrew Rupcich is also competing for the spot. With the Seahawks’ strong interior defensive line, featuring Dre’Mont Jones, Byron Murphy II, and Leonard Williams, Radunz will face significant challenges. The decision on the right guard position may be finalized by the end of Thursday’s practices.

Rashad Weaver, EDGE

The Titans seem confident they can address Arden Key’s six-game suspension with internal promotions. While Jaylen Harrell and Shane Ray have made strong impressions during training camp, fourth-year defensive end Rashad Weaver is expected to see the majority of the snaps. With Seahawks offensive tackles like Charles Cross and George Fant, productive practices from Weaver would be a promising sign.
