Philadelphia was able to complete the signing after acquiring an additional $250,000 in international bonus pool money from the Cleveland Guardians in a trade. The move gave the Phillies the financial flexibility necessary to bring Hua into the organization, highlighting how clubs often use trades to maximize their international signing opportunities.
