Bills to Add Former $118 Million QB After Mitch Trubisky Struggles

The Buffalo Bills re-signed veteran Mitch Trubisky this offseason to serve as the backup to Josh Allen. However, after a tough showing in training camp and the first two preseason games, some reporters are questioning whether Trubisky is the right fit. In the Bills’ 9-3 preseason win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 17, Trubisky completed 9-of-13 passes for just 86 yards, with no touchdowns and one costly interception.

Following this performance, WGR 550 reporter Joe DiBiase suggested that the Bills might want to consider bringing in former rival quarterback Ryan Tannehill. DiBiase noted on X, “If no starting job opens up for him due to injury, Ryan Tannehill would be a significant upgrade as the Bills’ backup QB. This team could struggle to win three games if Trubisky had to play.”

“If no starting job becomes available to him via injury, Ryan Tannehill would be a significant upgrade for the Bills at backup QB,” DiBiase shared on X. “This is a 3 win football team if Trubisky had to play.”

“If no starting role opens up for him due to an injury, Ryan Tannehill would be a major improvement for the Bills as a backup quarterback,” DiBiase posted on X. “With Trubisky as the starter, this team might only win three games.”
