Could Alabama fans be in for an exciting matchup during the “Third Saturday of October” rivalry?
Kalen DeBoer provided updates on two injuries during SEC Coaches Teleconference. Kendrick Law has missed the last two games due to an injury sustained against Georgia, while Kobe Prentice sat out last week’s game against South Carolina.
Both wide receivers bring talent and experience to the Crimson Tide. With injuries, Alabama has relied on depth players like Emmanuel Henderson, Cole Adams, Caleb Odom, and Rico Scott. While Henderson and Adams have made contributions, it appears that Law and Prentice may return for Saturday’s game against Tennessee, as DeBoer labeled them as “probable” for the matchup.
Linebackers Justin Jefferson and Qua Russaw were also marked as probable earlier this season and both played, with Russaw recording two tackles, a tackle for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble in the game against Georgia. Jefferson also forced a fumble in Alabama’s 41-34 victory over Georgia on September 28 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Having Law and Prentice back would be crucial for the offense, providing much-needed playmaking ability.
