BREAKING: Packers reportedly confirm another significant signing to bolster squad depth

The Green Bay Packers lost practice squad offensive lineman Lecitus Smith to the New England Patriots on Tuesday, as the Patriots added him to their 53-man roster. This left the Packers with only one offensive lineman on their 17-man practice squad and an open roster spot.

To address this, Green Bay quickly signed offensive lineman, who had been signed as an undrafted free agent by the Minnesota Vikings earlier this spring but was waived during roster cuts.

Standing at 6’6″,  he began his college career at Harvard, where he played for four years in the Ivy League. After graduating, he transferred to North Carolina, where he started all 26 games over two seasons. He also attracted interest from the UFL, where he was drafted in July as an eighth-round pick by the Arlington Renegades in the league’s 2024 college draft.

The Packers have been actively evaluating offensive linemen this season, bringing in six for workouts just last Tuesday. Three weeks ago, Rolland had a chance to impress during a workout with the team, likely securing his spot as their top choice among all the linemen they’ve evaluated this year.

With this signing, Rolland will join rookie Donovan Smith, who has been with the team since the summer, as the practice squad offensive linemen. The Packers now have at least one player on their practice squad for every position, with multiple players on the practice squad for the offensive line, receiver, and cornerback positions following today’s addition.
