The Top Superstar had an outstanding regular season with the Cleveland Guardians, setting records and reaching milestones. He moved up the franchise’s all-time home run list and nearly achieved a 40-40 season.
Naturally, this impressive performance continued into the playoffs. Ramirez made history by appearing in his sixth playoff game for Cleveland during the ALDS against the Detroit Tigers, tying him for the most postseason appearances in team history alongside Kenny Lofton, Jim Thome, and Omar Vizquel.
This achievement is particularly noteworthy as 2024 marks his twelfth season in Major League Baseball, meaning he has reached the postseason in half of his years in the league—a testament to both his talent and the team’s success over the past decade.
While J-Ram has been consistent during the regular season, his overall postseason statistics may not seem as strong at first glance. In his six playoff appearances, he has a batting average of .236 with an OPS of .629, largely impacted by a subpar performance in 2017. However, in his last postseason appearance in 2022, he excelled with a .333 batting average and an .844 OPS.
Currently signed with the Guardians until 2028, the 32-year-old Ramirez is likely to finish his career in Cleveland, providing him with many opportunities to break the franchise record for playoff appearances.
