When Brandon Aiyuk became available, the Pittsburgh Steelers were quick to make several trade offers. Although they weren’t ready to trade any current players, it’s reported that they put forth a solid proposal involving draft picks to San Francisco in exchange for the All-Pro wide receiver.
Naturally, the 49ers didn’t jump at Pittsburgh’s offer—or any other for that matter. Aiyuk re-signed with San Francisco, putting an end to the speculation about him heading to the Steel City. However, a new rumor has surfaced, and it’s likely the Steelers are in the mix once more.
Pittsburgh Steelers presented strong Davante Adams trade offer to Raiders
This time, three-time All-Pro receiver Davante Adams is on the trade block. Unlike the Aiyuk situation, he’s not expected to sign an extension to remain in Las Vegas. All indications suggest the Raiders are looking to trade the 31-year-old receiver, with the New York Jets currently leading the race.
However, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Pittsburgh Steelers are also pursuing Adams and are putting forth a very competitive offer.
However, Dianna Russini from The Athletic reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers are also pursuing Adams and are presenting a compelling offer.
“The Pittsburgh Steelers, who you may recall were interested in trading for Brandon Aiyuk before he signed an extension with San Francisco this summer, are also in touch with the Raiders’ front office. I’m told Pittsburgh is making an aggressive offer.”
Russini notes that while the Raiders are seeking a second-round pick for Adams, they’re unlikely to receive it. Instead, she anticipates that Las Vegas will settle for a price closer to a third-round pick, which is what Houston paid to acquire Stefon Diggs this past offseason.
It’s worth mentioning that the Steelers do have a third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, along with a second-round pick, which could factor into negotiations.
