A new update has emerged regarding injury reporting in college football. Each team in the Southeastern Conference is now required to submit a weekly availability report for conference games. Alabama and Georgia both shared player updates.
Crimson Tide fans can be optimistic, as safety Malachi Moore and wide receiver Cole Adams were not listed among the injured. Moore, a fifth-year senior, sustained a head injury in the game against Wisconsin but has recovered during the bye week. Kalen DeBoer confirmed on his weekly radio show that Moore is ready to play.
Adams, a redshirt freshman, suffered an arm injury against South Florida but is also cleared to compete against Georgia.
The injury report indicates that linebackers Qua Russaw and Jeremiah Alexander, along with running back Richard Young, are listed as “probable” for Saturday’s matchup against the Bulldogs.
This is significant for the Tide, particularly with Russaw’s status. The 6-foot-2, 251-pound edge rusher is crucial for pressuring Georgia’s quarterback, Carson Beck, after dealing with a lower leg injury in the game against Wisconsin.
Young, a redshirt freshman, experienced a similar injury to Russaw’s in the game against the Badgers. Meanwhile, Alexander, a former five-star recruit, has a chance to play in his first game of the season, adding much-needed depth to the inside linebacker position.
