BREAKING: Notre Dame beat Indiana and Michigan State to land five-star super talent

Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry and his staff have made a significant addition to their 2025 recruiting class, as five-star prospect has verbally committed to the Fighting Irish, choosing them over finalists Indiana and Michigan State.

Reports indicate that the 6-foot-7 Haralson is Notre Dame’s highest-rated recruit since the advent of online rankings for high school players. He describes himself as a point guard on his X page, though recruiting websites classify him as a small forward. Regardless of the position, national analysts highlight Haralson’s athleticism and versatility, noting his ability to play multiple offensive roles and defend various positions.

Ranked as a consensus top-25 prospect in the senior class, Haralson is listed as high as No. 10 in the 2025 cycle by ESPN. Throughout his recruitment, he garnered over two dozen scholarship offers from prestigious programs, including Duke, Gonzaga, Kansas, Purdue, Alabama, Virginia, Michigan, and Auburn.

In the upcoming 2024-25 season, Haralson will be a senior at the La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana, a member of the competitive Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic (EYBL Scholastic). Rob Cassidy, a national analyst with Rivals.com, has shared insights on the impact Haralson will have at Notre Dame.

“A modern, 6-foot-6 wing that oozes versatility and impacts winning in a number of ways, Haralson is a certified shot-creator for both himself and others and feels comfortable handling the ball. He can also serve as a small-ball four if the situation calls for it. The five-star forward is comfortable initiating offense, pushing the breaks and taking defenders off the bounce, as he’s one of the more reliable in-traffic finishers in the class.”

As of now, Notre Dame has also secured a verbal commitment from 2025 four-star power forward Brady Koehler, a top-100 national prospect from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. With Haralson’s commitment, the Fighting Irish’s 2025 class is currently ranked among the top five nationally by several recruiting services.

Notre Dame isn’t stopping there. On Friday, 2025 four-star wing Ryder Frost from Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H., is set to announce his commitment, with the Fighting Irish making his final six. Predictions from 247Sports, Rivals.com, and On3 suggest a strong likelihood of Frost choosing Notre Dame.

Coach Shrewsberry and his staff are clearly on a recruiting surge for the 2025 class.
